What OverRider does not do
OverRider does not guarantee search ranking improvements, does not click ads, and does not create real customers or revenue. It cannot produce returning visitors, runs only while your computer is on, includes no paid proxies, and cannot guarantee that traffic is undetectable. It is a testing tool, not a marketing tool.
Most support tickets come from an expectation the product was never designed to meet. This page is deliberately blunt about the limits. If something here rules out your use case, OverRider is not the right tool and we would rather you knew now.
It does not guarantee search ranking improvements
OverRider does not interact with search engine result pages in a way that directly manipulates position — it does not perform searches, click your listing, or submit anything to a search engine. Whether real traffic patterns have any indirect effect on ranking is a question search engines answer through their own crawl and index signals, and it is not something OverRider controls or guarantees. Do not buy OverRider expecting a promised ranking outcome.
Traffic sources labelled “organic search” produce a referrer that looks like a search visit in your own analytics. That only affects how your analytics categorises the visit.
It does not click ads
The link-clicking feature explicitly excludes advertisements from the links it is willing to click, on both the target page and any pages it navigates to. It will not click your own ads, and it will not click ads on any other page it visits.
Do not attempt to work around this to generate ad impressions or clicks — including on your own site. Ad networks detect this reliably, and the realistic outcome is permanent termination of your AdSense or network account, plus forfeiture of unpaid earnings. In many jurisdictions it is also fraud in the legal sense.
It does not create customers or revenue
The browser does not fill in forms, log in, add items to a cart, or complete a checkout. Visits produce pageviews and engagement time. They do not produce sign-ups, leads or sales.
It cannot produce returning visitors
Every visit uses a fresh browser with an empty cookie jar, so analytics platforms record a new user each time. Your “returning users” figure will stay at or near zero, and there is no setting that changes this. See How OverRider traffic appears in Google Analytics.
It does not run without your computer
There is no cloud component. OverRider contacts overrider.io once to verify your license and never again. There is no server-side queue, no scheduled jobs held on our side, and no traffic generated on your behalf.
When you close the application, traffic stops. When the computer is off, no traffic is possible. We cannot start or stop traffic remotely, because there is nothing running remotely.
It does not spread visits evenly over time
There is no setting that distributes a target number of visits across a chosen period. A Visits Based project runs as fast as your threads allow and then stops — 1,000 visits will not take eight hours simply because you would prefer them to.
The controls that affect pace are the thread count and the stay time per visit. To slow a project down, reduce threads and increase Min and Max Stay Time. A Duration Based project runs for a fixed period, but has no volume target, so the visit count is whatever the settings produce.
It does not include proxies
The built-in proxy engine scrapes and tests free public proxies. These are genuinely free, and correspondingly unreliable — a proxy that works now may be dead in twenty minutes, and success rates of 20 to 40 percent are normal.
No paid proxies are included with your license. If you need consistent results, buy authenticated residential proxies from a provider and add them to OverRider yourself.
It cannot guarantee that traffic is undetectable
OverRider applies device profiles, fingerprint overrides and human-like behaviour, and it masks the standard automation flags. That defeats common checks. It does not defeat everything.
Enterprise bot protection — Cloudflare Bot Management, DataDome, PerimeterX and similar — correlates signals across many requests, weights IP reputation heavily, and updates continuously. Free data-centre proxies in particular are flagged by reputation alone, no matter how convincing the browser looks. Anyone claiming a permanent guarantee here is not being straight with you.
It does not run on macOS or Linux
Windows 10 or later, 64-bit, only. There is no macOS build, no Linux build and no mobile app.
It does not pair keywords with specific URLs
Target URLs and referrers are chosen independently at random for each visit. You cannot tie a particular keyword to a particular landing page. If you need that pairing, run separate projects.
Things you should not use it for
Some uses will cause you real harm, so they are worth stating plainly:
- Clicking or generating impressions on ads — including your own. This is ad fraud. It will get your AdSense or ad network account terminated, and it is illegal in many jurisdictions.
- Sending traffic to sites you do not own or have written permission to test.
- Inflating metrics reported to advertisers, clients or investors. That is misrepresentation, whatever tool produces the numbers.
- Overwhelming a third-party service. Load testing is for infrastructure you are responsible for.
OverRider is built for load testing, analytics validation, QA and staging work — situations where you control the target and want realistic traffic on demand. Used that way it is straightforward and safe.
